Positions available – Volunteer Campground Hosts
Camp Woolybutts – Territory Wildlife Park
Dates: 1st May to 30th September each year
(Note: Volunteers required for minimum 2 weeks per campground)
The Territory Wildlife Park (TWP) is piloting a Campground Host program in Camp Woolybutts at TWP.
The Territory Wildlife Park is a wildlife park with a difference. Set at Berry Springs in the Darwin rural area, the Park covers an impressive 400 hectares. The Territory Wildlife Park showcases only animals found within the Top End of the Northern Territory, anywhere from around Katherine/Mataranka north. Within the Top End there are three broad habitat types; Tropical Savanah Woodland, Monsoon Forest and Wetlands. The site for the Territory Wildlife Park was chosen as it naturally exhibits examples from all three habitat types.
Where
Territory Wildlife Park is about 50km south-west of Darwin city, on sealed roads via the Stuart Hwy.

Who
The campgrounds would suit an independent individual or couple who would be happy to maintain the campground to a high standard.
Campground Facilities
Camp Woolybutts – a private camp area for school groups, located near the main station.
Ablution block, rotunda, camp kitchen, and grassed camping area and fire pit area.
What are the campground hosts responsibilities?
The main role of the campground host is general maintenance of the camp ground area and facilities.
Duties include:
- Cleaning of amenities block before and after school camps
- Camp Woolybutt yard work.
Key skills/abilities
The Campground Host Volunteer must:
- Be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
- National Police Check and or Ochre Card is highly desirable
- Be 18 years and over
- Have an interest in Parks and Wildlife and connecting with nature

Training
All campground host volunteers are required to undertake a camp induction provided by TWP prior to placement. This ensures volunteers understand TWP processes.
Health
You will be required to be physically active. A good level of fitness and health is expected.
